Professional and Scientific Council

The Professional and Scientific Council was established in 1978 for the purpose of studying, formulating, and recommending to administrative officers of UNI policies of interest to Professional and Scientific employees. The Council, consisting of representatives elected by division members, meets monthly during University office hours. Meetings are open to the public unless voted into executive session.

Below are the list of candidates running for the 2014 P&S Council positions. You will have the option to vote for the candidates in your division in addition to voting for the At-Large position in myUNIverse.

P&S Council is now accepting candidate nominations. Fill out the form to nominate yourself or someone else.

The Salary and Fringe Benefits Committee has researched certain benefits in response to last year’s survey and compared them to local employers and peer institutions. Generally, the findings have been very positive.

We extend our thanks to All Professional & Scientific (P&S) and Supervisory and Confidential Merit employees who attended the P&S Council's Annual Meet the Pres event on Nov. 20. The program included an address by President Bill Ruud, recognition of the 2013 Regents Staff Excellence Award recipients and outstanding musical entertainment. We look forward to seeing you next year!

UNI will host the annual Military and Veterans State Conference Monday, Sept. 23. The keynote presentation will be given by Meredith Kleykamp, University of Maryland professor of sociology. Breakout sessions will focus on the unique aspects of military and family culture, how colleges and universities can help military members succeed, and tools to help overcome the challenges of transitioning back into civilian life.
